I recently bought a PDP Afterglow Xbox 360 controller, that is licensed by Microsoft, and Windows won't detect it. It does not show in device manager, but the controller lights up implying the USB is functioning. My wired xbox One controller's input is sometimes picked up by the driver but sometimes it isn't. The controller is always detected by the driver in preferences but most of the time the input doesn't work. I usually just end up unplugging and replugging until, eventually, it starts working.
I have previously installed the driver and it came up as a Xbox Gaming Device. But still no reaction, light or vibration from the controller itself. I went though my Windows Update to see if i needed: User-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 update for Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 or Kernel-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 update for Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2.
Xbox One Wired Controller Driver
I have both of these installed and nothing. I was looking around on Reddit and found that i could possibly have a normal Xbox One controller install and then plug my controller in and it would work with the drivers from the Official one, sadly only the Official one worked correctly, lit up and the xbox button pulled up Big Picture Mode in Steam. As of now, i'm installing any left over Updates i may need to see if it sorts out. I've tried manually forcing the driver as well: My options being Xbox One Controller, Xbox One Controller (DFU) and Xbox Gaming Device. None of the three get it to work. I do have the driver itself from Majornelson.com. I'll keep looking into it and see if i can get it working. Any other tips would be appreciated. Thank you again for your help.
